COURSE TITLE

Advanced Marine Fire Fighting

 

SCOPE

The course is both theoretical and practical with an emphasis on the delegate's ability to communicate, take command and successfully control fire fighting operations both at sea and in port.

 

Who would benefit?

This course is recommended for senior personnel who have completed the basic training in fire fighting and fire prevention.

 

DURATION & DELIVERY

The duration of this course is five (5) days. Classes are from 8:00am to 4:00pm. A combination of lectures sessions, demonstrations and videos are used to deliver this course. Training and instruction is done by members of the training wing of the Fire Services Department.

 

OBJECTIVE

In this course will learn fire awareness and safety procedures, as well as be able to take command, organise and control the fire fighting personnel in the event of an on board fire. You would also learn how to inspect and maintain the fire extinguishing systems and equipment on board.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be medically fit with good eyesight (backed by a medical report and eye test)**
  • Completion of Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention - Basic
