The Caribbean Fisheries Training & Development Institute (CFTDI) occupies two locations in Chaguaramas. The majority of the administrative offices are located at the first campus on the Western Main Road, along with a small number of classrooms. The training campus, commonly referred to as "The Net Shed", is located off the Western Main Road at 1st Avenue South. This campus hosts the majority of the classrooms, the computer laboratory, a small fish handling and processing centre and the other training facilities. The training campus is situated along the Chaguaramas shoreline and includes a jetty and a deep water harbour where boats can be docked.

The classrooms contain specialised apparatus and support equipment for conducting a wide range of training programs such as outboard engine repairs and boat rigging. The fish handling and processing centre is utilised in the seafood technology courses and the end product is usually sold on the retail market.
