Courses
Courses offered by the CFTDI prepare you for careers on and off shore. Maritime courses are designed to prepare you for working on fishing or other sea-going vessels. Most of the courses in this track are accredited by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), which means your course credits are internationally recognised. Courses in the Seafood Technology track are designed to develop your skills in fish handling, processing and preparation. These skills will open up opportunities for you in the fishing industry as well as in processing plants, supermarkets and even schools.
The Institute is currently collaborating with the National Training Agency of Trinidad and Tobago to develop National Vocational Qualifications (TTNV) and Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQ's) for courses in the seafood processing area.
